What is the difference in a distributor and a producer?

A producer creates the movie. The movie is distributed via a distributor. Distributors and theaters are two options for producers to sell their movies. Distributors acquire movies from producers. Then they sell them to theaters, cable channels, or streaming services.

Distributors should negotiate with theater owners regarding where their movies are playing. This means that some theaters may charge more to see a certain movie than others. Distributors with multiple theaters are a good choice if your movie needs to be seen by as many people.

How many theaters will I need to return my investment?

It all depends on how long your theatrical release will be running.

If you're planning to run your film for less than two weeks, you only need to open one theater.

If you're going to run your film for longer than two weeks, then at least two theaters are needed.

Hollywood is famous for what?

It was easy. Because they were willing take risks and do something completely different, it became famous. They were able to make films that would be remembered for many years.

They were also bold enough to try new ideas.
